Advice
My biggest advice is to do your research, ask a lot of questions, and learn how to take constructive feedback.
It is better to be over prepared than to be underprepared. Whether you are client facing or not, when you work at Goldman, you will always be speaking to clients or other colleagues. Each person has their expertise others rely on and you never know what questions will be ask and if something you researched will be important!
As for asking questions, make sure to ask thoughtful questions. Sometimes questions lead to other questions that may very end up being the solution to a current problem. On the other hand, if there is something you don't understand or want more insight on, make sure you ask for help. People are willing to help you especially your mentors and VP at Goldman Sachs. They really care about your growth and are there for every step of the way. Also, you may be saving more time asking for help than taking a huge chunk of time to solve something that may already have an existing solution for.
Lastly, learn how to take constructive criticism. The team you will work with care a lot about your growth, therefore there will be many feedback on your work. This feedback is not only for your growth but also to ensure the quality of the team's group. Take the feedback and move on.
