2018-2020 Resident Scholar

WHAT: As a way to engage young professionals in the social profit sector, Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, a private, place-based foundation in Phoenix, Arizona (Maricopa County) established the Piper Trust Resident Scholars Program. Through a paid two-year commitment, Resident Scholars can learn about the social profit sector and philanthropy, examine issues and challenges in our region, and contribute to advancing the Trust’s mission of improving well-being for all in Maricopa County. Piper Trust is now accepting applications for its 2018-2020 Resident Scholar.

Piper Trust Resident Scholars will receive a stipend of $45,000 per year, plus full health benefits, professional development support, and work-related travel expenses. Housing, transportation, and living arrangements are the responsibility of the Scholars.

WHO: Candidates for the Resident Scholars Program must have an undergraduate degree (a graduate degree and/or social profit work experience will add to a candidate’s competitiveness) and a demonstrated desire to contribute to social good and the social profit sector. The Trust views the position to be a valuable early career opportunity; it is not suited for seasoned professionals.
