Chemical Health Coordinator

Provide a comprehensive education/treatment program for youth assessed as chemical abusers or as chemically dependent.

 

The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

1. Initiate screening and procedures for resident evaluation and treatment planning.

2. Develop individual treatment plans for residents. 

3. Provide Chemical Health Counseling on site to youth.

4. Coordinate Outpatient Treatment. 

5. Prepare reports and maintain resident files. 

6. Ensure compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse licensing standards.

7. Ensure the proper management of specific department/program budget.

8. Direct, manage and support the ongoing selection, evaluation and development of appropriate staff. 

9. Administer and monitor health and safety decisions. 

10. Provide transportation as necessary.

11. Attend staff meetings and training session as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities. 

12. Ensure confidentiality regarding youth’s medical background and treatment issues.

13. Perform other job and work-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed.

 

 

The Credentials necessary are as follows:

Bachelor’s degree in a Social Services field and 3 years of experience in Chemical Health counseling.

Illinois: Must meet Medicaid requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (MHP) in addition to the above requirements.

First Aid/CPR/Infection Control/TCI/CPI/Medication certification.

CADC certification required.

Valid driver’s license. Must meet state regulating agency driving requirements and pass corporate insurance eligibility standards.
