Position Overview:
Are you a dynamic individual with superb technical and communication skills that loves to work on multimedia-related software development projects? TechSmith is looking for a Software Test Specialist who can accelerate and improve of the quality of TechSmith products. This is an extremely important role on our development teams. In order to maintain our commitment to software quality, we need someone who can champion for quality assurance in all facets of TechSmith products. In this role, you will perform various types of software testing throughout the development cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, test, and troubleshoot TechSmith software products using black box testing methods
- Monitor product quality through effective testing strategy, planning, and execution
- Balance time constraints and high product quality standards to assume ownership of features and test assignments
- Collaborate closely with other Software Testers, Designers, and Developers on Agile development teams
- Track and analyze issues collected in the bug tracking system
- Actively contributes to the evolution of software testing at TechSmith
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Background:
- Experience with software testing, software quality assurance, and/or testing desktop or web applications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Windows operating system experience
- Excellent analytical and technical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Works well on a team
- Self-motivated and passionate about quality and software excellence
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without an employer-sponsored petition for a visa, such as an H-1B visa. TechSmith does not intend to file any visa applications in connection with this opening.
Preferred Skills and Background:
- Working knowledge of multimedia concepts (audio, video, streaming, codecs, performance factors and issues, etc.)
- Web service testing experience
- Mac operating system experience
- Experience using automated software testing tools
- Knowledge and experience with Agile development methods
