Human Resources Supervisor

SUMMARY: 

Coach employees and supervisory/exempt level management on practice, procedures, and policies of Little River Casino Resort Human Resources.  Monitor, track, audit, and report on practices, procedures, policies and record keeping of Human Resources.

 

Employment Qualifications

·        Associate’s degree in Business or related field and 2 years of Human Resources experience or 4 years of Human Resources experience

·        1 year of supervisory experience  

·        Working knowledge of employment law, including but not limited to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sexual Harassment, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

·        Knowledgeable of human resources information systems

·        Knowledge of Benefits administration and Leaves of Absence preferred

  • Knowledge of the Gaming Industry and the laws and regulations governing gaming operations preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 21 years of age

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Coach and provide feedback to employees at all levels of the organization on policy, procedures, and best practices, including but not limited to Performance Improvement Plans and Performance Reviews.

2.    Handle attendance and other handbook policy related concerns.

3.    Investigate and mediate complaints. 

4.    Review, approve and facilitate disciplinary meetings.

5.    Conduct exit interviews and fill out necessary forms.

6.    Monitor and track HR processes, including but not limited to recruiting, Tribal Preference, employee relations activities, I-9 documentation, Human Resource Information System integrity, etc.

7.    Assist in facilitating new programs for employees.

8.    Supervise HR representatives responsible for record-keeping of recruitment and administration.  Ensure standard practices and processes are followed.  Identify areas for improvement. 

9.    Audit HRIS system, record keeping, benefits, and recruiting.

10. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations of the Little River Casino Resort and of the Human Resources department.

11. Assist with interviewing and hiring of supervisor and front line positions.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to communicate using written, verbal and computer methods.  Must be able to operate computer equipment for extended periods of time.  Must be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions. 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, loud noises and cigarette smoke.  Extensive computer use.  Must be flexible with work schedule.  Occasional overtime required.  Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals.  High volume direct public contact.

All Little River Casino Resort employees are responsible to ensure that their designated operations are in compliance with Little River Casino Resort policies, and Tribal gaming regulations.

 

Conditions of employment with Little River Casino Resort include passing a pre-employment drug test, a background investigation to secure a gaming license and successfully completing a three-month introductory period.  Candidates for this position will be required to have dependable transportation available to them without notice. 

Individual must not have been charged or released from employment or involved in anything which could be considered a liability to the Resort, e.g. harassment, theft, violence, or integrity issues.
