Naval Nuclear Laboratory 2018 Summer Internship (Business and Technical)
Naval Nuclear Laboratory (Operated by Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation) is currently accepting applications for their 2018 Summer Intern Program. If you are interested in gaining valuable professional experience while working on interesting and cutting edge projects, be sure to apply. There are internships available in both technical and business disciplines. Candidates must be a US citizen and have completed their sophomore year of college or higher by the summer of 2018 to be eligible.

Naval Nuclear Laboratory summer interns are fully integrated into various organizations and assigned responsibilities that will provide them with a real-world work experience for planning and executing assignments in their field. Interns may be assigned a variety of business or technical responsibilities in many fields including research and development of new technologies, designing and testing components or integrated systems, developing and providing training, supporting new construction projects, developing procedures and providing operational support, and working on the examination and disposal of expended reactors. Naval Nuclear Laboratory provides technical and business opportunities in a diverse and challenging range of work assignments. These assignments will vary annually based on business needs and will be commensurate with interns’ knowledge and skills. In additional to developing technical and business skills while completing their assignments, all Naval Nuclear Laboratory interns will present their work to peers and management at the completion of their internship.
Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are BMPC employees who work at five separate facilities. These
include four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.
Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power
Training Unit- Charleston. BPMC employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards
and vendor locations. Since 1946, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced naval nuclear
propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure
the safe and reliable operation of our nation’s submarine and aircraft carrier fleets. The Naval Nuclear
Laboratory is a Nation Asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the
dedication and innovation of our nearly 7,000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel.
Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility
requirements for access to classified matter. All positions at Naval Nuclear Laboratory (Operated by
Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation) require a Department of Energy security clearance, and
therefore US citizenship is required.
