Project Architect/Project Manager i
The Higher Education Studio at Glavé & Holmes Architecture is seeking to fill a Project Architect/Manager I position. The Higher Ed (HE) Studio, one of six studios in the firm, is primarily focused on the design of buildings on the campuses of college/ universities and private secondary schools. The HE Studio is engaging both the private sector and the public sector institutions. The Studio is also building a portfolio of planning and landscape architecture projects.
Project Architect/ Project Manager I: This individual would be at the beginning level of the project management and project architect role. The roles and responsibilities include the primary responsibility for assisting in the: creation of the deliverables for a given project, direction of project team members’ work, coordination with consultants and management of the many areas of project delivery from conceptual design through construction. The division between Project Architect and Project Manager at G&HA is not distinct and many projects are managed by a hybrid PA/PM role. This individual should be newly licensed or in the process of testing.
Desirable credentials and abilities include:
As a guide, between 5 and 8 years of experience
Ability to create a set of construction documents and knowledge of materials, details and construction
Experience in higher education project a plus but not necessary
Interest in the higher education market and in traditional architecture, along with demonstrated ability to design within that language
Expertise with Revit platform and with Adobe Creative Suite
Passion for design excellence, collaborative spirit and willingness to learn, sense of humor
Abilities with Graphic design, Hand drawing and sketching.
Ability to write coherently.
Interest in being a generalist in the practice of architecture – ability to focus on multiple scales, from detail to master plan
