Are you looking for a dynamic company to join for a summer internship?  The Roush Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) team has an opening for an internship position from May 1, 2017 – September 1, 2017.  The summer intern will aid senior engineers in analysis and design validation tasks for various applications in the automotive, marine, aerospace, military, theme park and industrial equipment segments.  Special tasks include building and analyzing finite element models, interpreting structural or fluid flow simulation results, and communicating the results to internal engineering teams.

 

Due to specific upcoming project requirements, US citizenships is required.  The internship position is located at our Allen Park, MI facility, and is available from May 1 – September 1, 2017.

 

Qualifications 

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Currently pursuing BS or MS in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics

  • Strong fundamental coursework in structural mechanics and/or fluid mechanics

  • Strong coursework in numerical methods, partial differential equations and other related mathematics disciplines

  • Practical experience utilizing analytical methods for engineering problems (e.g. coursework projects)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have understanding and ability to conform to existing methods while suggesting innovations and process improvements

  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills

     

      Preferred Skills 

  • Thesis work involving finite element or related analytical and numerical methods for solving engineering problems

  • Experience with CAE tools (meshing/solvers)

  • BS with 1-2 years’ experience or MS with 0-2 years’ experience using analytical tools for engineering design studies

  • Ability to learn and adapt to different CAE applications quickly

  • Demonstrated keen observation and product development experience for any one of the following domains: Fluid or structural mechanics, vehicle dynamics, structural dynamics

  • Willing to travel domestic trips
