Investment Analyst, Private Equity

SWIB is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its Private Markets & Funds Alpha Division. The Investment Analyst will assist the Portfolio Manager and Senior Managing Analyst in performance analysis and portfolio administration for the Private Equity Co-Investments Portfolio.

Essential activities:

Work with Portfolio Manager and Senior Managing Analyst to:

  • Manage and track the inflow of investment opportunities and participate in discussions with the Private Equity team regarding new potential co-investments
  • Conduct post-closing portfolio company/investment monitoring and support the annual and interim reporting of portfolio performance, strategy and outlook for presentation to senior staff and the Investment Committee
  • Conduct investment screening, industry research & market analysis
  • Attend relevant advisory board and annual meetings

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related required
  • 1-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, business, or related field
  • Strong analytic/financial modeling skills
  • Familiarity with private equity and investments
  • A willingness to travel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Superb work ethic, attention to detail, team orientation, and commitment to excellence

The position requires U.S. work authorization and residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Madison, Wisconsin area. SWIB is prepared to offer relocation assistance as needed.
