Examples of Duties:
1. Tutor students with reading and writing assignments, including both one-on-one and small group tutoring.
2. Coach students in accelerated English courses to manage their writing process..
3. Assist students in developing independent proofreading skills.
4. Reinforce study skills such as annotation, note-taking and time management.
5. Read assigned class readings.
6. Attend writing and reading classes as stipulated by supervisor.
7. Assist instructors with activities.
8. Meet with instructors to discuss student progress, assignments, and expectations, if necessary
9. Meet/work with Tutor Coordinator/Faculty Advisers to assess program effectiveness and to implement best practices and expansion strategies
10. Build rapport with students to promote students' academic engagement and use of tutoring services
11. Participate in efforts to improve academic success of Basic Skills students and students from Equity Focus populations
12. Other duties as assigned.
