UX Design Intern

The challenge

As the User Experience Designer for Adobe Plan, you will help drive the future of user experience. You will scout for and discuss emerging technologies that have the potential to revolutionize content creation and communication. You alternate between answering "what if we could...?" and "how can we...?" by means of visual designs, detailed mock-ups and proof-of-concept prototypes at mobile, desktop, and installation scales. Adobe Plan is Adobe’s planning and prioritization tool used company-wide to drive our business prioritizes and product roadmaps across Adobe.

As part of Cloud Technology, the Strategy, Planning and Business Operations Team provides strategic planning, roadmap execution, business operations, tooling and executive reporting for our Cloud platform, Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Marketing Cloud.

Who you are...

  • Passionate about Quality. You know what it takes to deliver quality, sustainable product, and you are passionate about high-quality software development and the technology and knowledge that supports it.
  • Essentialist. You role model how to distill a problem to its essence, to make it "as simple as possible, but no simpler." You know how to eliminate the decorative to deliver a single powerful idea.
  • Design Focused:. You sweat the details to bring a beautiful elegance to everything you put your name to.
  • Reliable: You pride yourself in developing a sense of reliability in outcomes, timelines and goals expectations that you set for yourself and your team. Your product and team depend on it.
  • Team Player. You enjoy collaborating with, learning from, and teaching others so we all become better. You assume good intent in others, and actively do your part to make a positive work environment.
  • You go confidently: You take risks and trust your instinct to elevate the creativity and possibilities of everything you put your name to.

What you’ll do

  • Creative Problem-Solving: Identify user needs and build consensus around those needs. Create user experience goals, priorities, and deliverables that align with product milestones. Construct beautiful, functional interface designs that work in concert with user needs and business goals.
  • Sketching and Prototyping: You’re comfortable sketching your ideas. Sharing your rough ideas with stakeholders and other designers. You use prototypes (low- and high-fidelity) to demonstrate interaction and test with users.
  • Collaboration with Engineers and Product Strategists: You’d rather have a conversation than read documentation. You thrive in cross-functional teams. Engage with multiple stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and other designers to bring concepts to reality at every stage of development.
  • Testing and user feedback: You’re relentless about gathering feedback early and often. You’re actively involved in testing your own designs, using a lean, lightweight approach. Participate in peer design critiques to give and receive critique.
  • UX Leadership: Take ownership of the design. Do research. Be articulate and persuasive about best practices in ux design. Get involved strategically and contribute new product / service ideas.

What you need to succeed:

You will work directly with executives, product managers and engineering leadership to bring great products to life.

  • You go beyond pixels: You do whatever it takes to make a product successful. You’re curious about how business, social, technical and behavioral factors impact the UX across customer’s journey inside and outside the product UX.
  • You iterate: You’re experiment-driven and always seeking a better way to do things.
  • You focus on simplicity: You find ways to make complicated tasks easy. You take pride in eliminating things that aren’t valuable.
  • You take ownership and accountability: You don’t wait on Product Managers or others to define your design work. You think end-to-end customer experience even though you might be designing for a part of that entire end-to-end experience.

Requirements:
