Examples of Duties: 


As an instructor (40% FTE) the incumbent will:

1. 

Teach appropriate curriculum related to the program, including WOMEN 55: Ending Sexual Violence: Peer Education.
   
2. Perform duties associated with instructing and assessing student progress, including but not limited to grading; record keeping; designing written lesson plans and classroom activities; and developing course materials, curricula techniques, and activities to support student success and retention. 

   
3. Oversee and report on assessment activities such as program and student learning outcomes for the Project SURVIVE program and courses.
   
4. Develop and update relevant course outlines in accordance with university transfer requirements.
   
5. Be available and accessible to students when necessary. Respond to student disciplinary issues and work with supervisor and other appropriate campus offices to ensure that student and faculty rights are respected. 

   
6. Make contributions to the Women's Studies department and college by participating in governance or other committees as assigned by supervisor or department chair, such as the Women's History Month collaborative and the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Committee. 

   
7. Maintain required office hours. 

   
8. Participate in sexual health promotion and violence prevention throughout the college and community, including service as a deputy Title IX coordinator and faculty adviser for the Project SURVIVE club. 

   
9. Perform other related faculty responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor or department chairs, including but not limited to serving on evaluation, tenure review, and hiring committees and participating in department and campus committee work and professional development activities. 

   
10. Assess the feasibility of the development of a one-unit online "Introduction to Sexual Violence Prevention" course. 

    
11. For Women's Studies 54 part-time pool: Teach day, evening, and /or Saturday classes at any of the College's campuses or sites as required. 

    



As the Coordinator of the Sexual Violence Prevention Program (60% FTE) the incumbent will:


  1. Coordinate ongoing and comprehensive prevention and awareness programs addressing issues of sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking for students and faculty, as mandated by the Campus SaVE Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and the Affirmative Consent Law (SB 967), in order to keep CCSF eligible for federal and state financial support.


  2. Implement Sexual Violence Prevention Presentations

• 
Schedule 350-400 presentations on healthy relationship promotion and intimate partner violence prevention at the college and in the SFUSD (working with the community Expect Respect SF [ERSF] collaborative) each academic year
  
• Analyze evaluations from all presentations in order to update and improve program presentations
  
• Maintain databases and listservs for instructors engaged in both Project SURVIVE (PS) and ERSF, our high school program, and peer educators presenting in the PS/ERSF programs
  
• Update and order all classroom presentation materials
  
• Collaborate with peer educators on workshop curriculum development via annual retreat
  
• Recruit and train (via WOMN 54 and 55) six to eight new peer educators each academic year
  
• Coordinate hiring and re-hiring of 20-25 peer educators each semester
  
• Coordinate and lead orientations for all new peer educators including creation of orientation packets
  
• Support Project SURVIVE's bilingual program
  
• Coordinate training of 4-6 new Expect Respect SF (ERSF) peer educators each year
  
• Create and follow up on MOU between Expect Respect SF (CCSF program) and the SFUSD annually
  
• Coordinate quarterly meetings of the Expect Respect SF community collaborative
  

  3. Coordinate College-wide Events and exhibitions for Domestic Violence and Rape Awareness Months, including Bystander Intervention workshops, Poetry/Theater performances, and art installations

  
4. Coordinate Sexual Health Educator Certificate

• 
Convene community Advisory Board quarterly
  
• Track and update PSLOs for Project SURVIVE and the Sexual Health Educator Certificate
  
• Continue to build Project SURVIVE's Male Ally Project
  


  5. Manage budget, grants, and other administrative work

• 
Assist Women's Studies chair in Program Review preparation (data reports for Project SURVIVE)
  
• Co-supervise Women's Studies administrative assistant
  
• Supervise CalWORKS office assistant in the production and dissemination of all Project SURVIVE and Expect Respect SF materials
  
• Manage Women's Studies Lab Aide and Work Study budgets and approve bi-monthly hard copy time-sheets and web payroll of all paid peer educators
  
• Submit budget requests for supplies and other program materials to Women's Studies chair
  
• Maintain Project SURVIVE bulletin boards in Cloud Hall areas (near 402, 308, 207, 105)
  
• Maintain Women's Studies/Project SURVIVE shared (IDST, LALS, and LGBT) satellite Mission office
  


  6. Maintain a Project SURVIVE presence at College-wide General Events

• 
Schedule short presentations about the Project SURVIVE pathway at all in-person and online New Student Orientations and at the annual Frisco Day event for the SFUSD seniors
  
• Offer in-service training on sexual abuse awareness, prevention, and treatment for faculty and staff when requested
  
• Cooperate with Student Health Center, Counseling Department, Women's Resource Center, the Gender Diversity Project, WAYPASS, and other student service providers on issues related to sexual violence prevention and intervention (e.g. Health Fairs, conferences, workshops)
  


  7. Assist college-wide community with Resources and Referral

• Offer resources, referrals, and short-term crisis counseling to rape and intimate partner violence survivors referred to Project SURVIVE by other instructors and the campus police
  


  8. Sponsor Non-credit Self-Defense Class 


• Sponsor, promote, and facilitate SLO assessment for WOMN 2501 (Self-Defense, Women's Studies non-credit class)
  


  9. Lead ongoing development of Project SURVIVE using a collaborative leadership model


  10. Teach WOMN 55: Ending Sexual Violence: Peer Education
