Position description

·       The Community and Business Development Lead will be part of BVP Funded’s Solutions team, an organization focused on helping to support and accelerate the success of portfolio companies funded by Bessemer

·       Please note – this role is not part of the investing team

·       Bessemer is seeking a highly driven and motivated candidate, who can join a very small and agile team

·       This position is part of a group that has not traditionally existed in the venture capital landscape and as a result will be evolving and changing over time – an enthusiasm for impact and doing whatever it takes to be thoughtful and goal-oriented partners for our portfolio companies is critical

·       The role has two key components

o   Leading and managing the BVP Funded Community efforts – including both digital channels and in-person events that bring together senior executives (e.g., CTO, CMO, CFO) at BVP Funded companies to collaborate and exchange best practices with their peers

o   Developing and growing business development efforts – this will include building relationships with large corporations to help them identify interesting partnerships with our portfolio companies

·       The role includes a mix of strategic thinking, designing and building new processes and tools in a changing environment, and ‘rolling up your sleeves’ to get things done including more administrative work like managing lists, drafting emails, and working with large data sets

Preferred qualifications

·       2-5 years of experience, undergraduate degree from a top tier university

·       We want a team member who has demonstrated academic and professional success to date

·       Prior experience with enterprise software, SaaS, cloud computing, or consumer internet is a great plus

·       Highly professional, with excellent communications and relationship management skills

·       High energy and a positive attitude – motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment

·       Structured thinking – develop and leverage an organized view of what matters in order to prioritize and support decision making in a high demand role

·       Multi-tasking experience – The role has multiple objectives and will ‘wear multiple hats’, so the ability to juggle and manage several things is key
