Summer Intern - Facilities Maintenance

Job Functions:

1.      Maintain and update site equipment data; to include equipment type, maintenance tasking’s, frequencies, and materials to acquire site accountability.

2.      Maintain daily operations by supporting contractor services, ordering/issuing materials, Shipping & Receiving, and verifying work completion to ensure a high level of service.

3.      Compile and document information:  energy usage reports, process flows for continuous improvement, and cost savings opportunities.

4.      Support service requests by being the first responder to service requests from the customer.

5.      Project Management for small low risk tasks, prepare mark-ups, drawings, sketches, and scopes of work.

6.      Keep management informed on current workload, issues and future assignments through verbal and written communications.

7.      Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior.

8.      Adhere to company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of confidentiality.

9.      Maintain professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internal and external.

10.    Represent the company professionally in all interactions both internally and externally.

11.    Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Global Code of Conduct

12.    Perform special projects as required.

*Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Other):


Required:
1. Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Facilities Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and having completed a minimum of one year of college
2. An outstanding academic performer 3.0 / 4.0 GPA or equivalent academic requirement. Lower GPA considered if coupled with relevant experience
3. Good oral and written communication skills
4. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
5. Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills
6. Proficient with MS Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred:
 

  1. Facilities Maintenance or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Experience.
  2. Interest in a career with MTU America
  3. Safety Certificates; OSHA 10hr, 30hr, 40hr, specific training.
