Summer Intern - Marine Applications Engineering

Job Functions:

1.      Process Torsional Vibration Calculation (TVC) requests from our Distributor Network.

2.      Assemble Application & Installation Binders (based on project specific scope of supply) for Technical Kick-off Meetings with our customers..  

3.      Participate in weekly EPA Tier 4 / IMO 3 Project update meetings, generate meeting minutes and update Key Account Management (KAM) Presentations.

4.      Participate in weekly Liquid Natural Gas Project update meetings, generate meeting minutes and update Key Account Management (KAM) Presentations.

5.      Research Sub-chapter M requirements and create a presentation summarizing its importance to a Marine Diesel Engine provider.

6.   Assist in the implementation of revisions to the current engine replacement questionnaire process.

7.      Keep management informed on current workload, issues and future assignments

8.      Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior

9 .     Adhere to company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of confidentiality

10.      Maintain professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internal and external

11.    Represent the company professionally in all interactions both internally and externally

12.    Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Global Code Of Conduct.

13.    Perform special projects as required.



Required:

1.      Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture – Marine Engineering and having completed a minimum of one year of college.

2.      An outstanding academic performer 3.0 / 4.0 GPA or equivalent academic requirement. Lower GPA considered if coupled with relevant experience.

3.      Good oral and written communication skills.

4.      Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.

5.      Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills

6.      Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

 

Preferred:

1.      Interested in a career at MTU America

2.      Diesel engine and / or marine experience
