Summer Intern - Mining Application Engineering

Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Assist the Rail and Mining Application Engineering team with on-going projects and tasks
  2. Support Application Engineering with End Product Questionnaire (EPQ) preparation and documentation
  3. Promote the sale of MTU products by providing technical data to internal and external customers
  4. Create, review and update engineering tools (e.g. technical presentations, documentation and training material)
  5. Keep management informed of current workload, issues and future assignments
  6. Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior
  7. Adhere to company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of confidentiality
  8. Maintain professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internal and external
  9. Represent the company professionally in all interactions both internally and externally
  10. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Global Code Of Conduct.
  11. Perform special projects as required.



Required:
1. Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering and having completed a minimum of one year of college
2. An outstanding academic performer 3.0 / 4.0 GPA or equivalent academic requirement.   Lower GPA considered if coupled with relevant experience
3. Good oral and written communication skills
4. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
5. Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills
6. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:
1. Interested in a career at MTU America
2. Experience with testing, data collection and analysis
3. Knowledge of diesel engines
