Early Childhood Therapist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This is a professional position providing a wide range of prevention and early intervention services to infants, young children, and their families.  The work will involve in-home intervention with at-risk families under the supervision of the Clinical Manager in the Early Childhood and Family Services Division.  Service area may include West/Northwest Detroit, Redford and cities in Western Wayne County. This person works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager of the  Infant Mental Health Program. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

• Assessment and treatment planning for infants, young children and their families

• Implementation of treatment plans through appropriate interventions

• Participation in conferences, training sessions, group supervision, and team meetings

• Liaison work with referring hospitals or other service providers

• Community consultation

• Participation in program development and evaluation

• Participation in parent education and support groups, as needed 

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• MSW/MA with clinical and family experiences.  Preference will be given to endorsed Infant Mental Health Specialists or persons with infant or early childhood experience. 

• Appropriate State of Michigan licensure, required.

• Valid MI license and ability to meet agency’s insurance company’s standards for coverage
