UI Developer Intern (Summer 2017)

Rocket Software has internship (“Rocketship”) opportunities in Summer 2017 for college students’ currently studying computer science, mathematics, engineering or a related technical discipline. Candidates should have strong analytical backgrounds, be hardworking, energetic, articulate, open to new challenges, and willing to learn. The internship experience will provide an insider view of how a fast moving, innovative, and entrepreneurial company operates through an exciting and challenging work experience. Our interns will operate as a team to design and build, from the ground up, brand new and innovative applications related to text analytics, statistical analysis, and model based reasoning. 

The “Rocketship” is also designed to give you multiple opportunities to interact with members of Rocket Software’s Executive Team, an invaluable chance to showcase your skills and start building a network of professionals for future internships or post-graduate work. 

Our program includes participation in a professional development program together with other interns with a goal to develop and deliver an executive level presentation to senior members of Rocket Software’s Executive Team at the end of the summer. 

This is a paid internship position.

Position Description

We are seeking a Front End Web Developer intern to work closely with the Rocket User Experience team to assist in the creation of elegant, fast, responsive websites and web applications. The ideal candidate thrives on new challenges and has the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Required Skills:

·         Web frameworks, AJAX web UIs, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS

·         Experience with RESTful services

·         General programming skills and understanding of OO concepts

·         Passion to stay ahead of the curve on front end technology and development trends

·         Working knowledge of UI principles of user experience

·         An eye for detail: turning Design Comps into CSS

Proficiency with Node based Development tools such as Grunt/Gulp, Node Package Manager, is a plus!

Experience with jQuery and Twitter Bootstrap, is a plus!
