User Experience (UX) Intern (Summer 2017)

Position Details:

Support User Experience projects by communicating and collaborating with partners (for example, Engineering and Product Management); attending usability sessions; participating in iterative design process and brainstorming sessions; and presenting user experience flow and project decisions to team members and user experience leadership. 

Create User Experience design comps and product specs for short-term projects with defined design guidelines, and support design on larger projects by documenting and participating in project definition activities; producing detailed design documentation and other specifications required to implement design; working with Product Manager and team to define documentation scope; reviewing project requirements document (PRD) to ensure correct translation of design. 

Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in User Experience and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Required Skills:

·         Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in the area of Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or associated field with a focus on design.

·         Candidates must have a solid understanding of user-centered design principles

·         Ability to evangelize best practices for achieving User Centered Design within agile development teams

·         Ability to grasp multiple product requirements

·         Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Axure (or equivalent prototype/wireframe software)

·         Working knowledge of Javascript and scripting languages

·         Strong html prototyping skills

·         Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail

·         Ability to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast- paced environment

·         Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·         Ability to present cohesive design approaches to a non-design audience

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Motivated and eager to learn

·         Ability to work independently as well as in a group

Desired Skills:

·         Organize and conduct user testing activities that lead to better product
