ASIC Integration Methodology Engineer
GLOBALFOUNDRIES is looking for a strong technical contributor to join our world-class ASIC methodology development team! The ideal candidate will have some experience implementing a physical design implementation and verification methodology using industry-standard processes and tools.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work with methodology, IP design, chip design, and test engineering teams to implement and automate leading-edge, efficient, and integrated hierarchical physical design flows
- Work with global team to identify and proactively debug issues on customer and test site parts
- Must be able to generate clear documentation and easy to use scripts
- Work effectively with global team and be creative and self-motivated to solve problems
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:
- Education – Must have a BS + 3 years experience or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Experience
- Solid understanding of SOC physical design, including floor planning, power distribution, placement, and routing
- Familiarity with chip finishing concepts, including metal fill, coloring, DFM rules, etc.) for latest generations of process technologies (preferably 14nm/16nm)
- Demonstrated strong problem solving ability
- Scripting languages (e.g. Tcl/Tk, Perl, ksh, Python)
- Travel < 5%
- Language Fluency – Fluent in English Language – written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong TCL/Perl/Python scripting knowledge
- Experience developing complex placement, routing, and checking algorithms ● Understanding of synthesis, design for test, power grid analysis, and timing concepts
- Experience with Linux Operating System
