Laboratory Assistant

Laboratory Assistant - Analysis of Radiochemistry and Radioactive Materials

A research opportunity is available at the U.S. Army Public Health Center (USAPHC) located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. USAPHC is seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Science, Environmental or Physical Sciences.

The selected candidate will train on the analysis of radiochemistry and radioactive materials in various environmental sample matrix (water, soil and air). This will include proper safety procedures for handling of radioactive materials and proper disposal techniques. The candidate will learn regulated analysis methodology from EPA Standard Methods and NIOSH. The candidate will also learn introduction to Laboratory Quality System Program requirements (i.e. ISO 17025 and NELAP/ A2LA).

The participant MUST be willing to conduct research with radiation and radioactive material.
