Our faculty members teach graduate students cutting-edge data science using innovative educational techniques. We’re looking for a passionate person who wants to be challenged and teach the next generation of data scientists.

As a faculty member of GalvanizeU, you will:

    • Deliver lectures and tutorials on scientific Python, statistics machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), data engineering, and more
    • Lead the instruction in the classroom and manage other instructional staff
    • Work on real world data science projects with our industry partners allowing students to shadow you as you practice your craft
    • Deftly and patiently answer student questions and provide feedback
    • Mentor students on real world data science projects with our industry partners
    • Build and refine data science curriculum
    • Use student feedback and experiment to continuously improve instructional methods and materials
    • Evaluate new tools and frameworks for use in the curriculum

Expected Experience:

    • Multiple years of experience in industry in a data scientist or software engineer role
    • PhD in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, statistics, or mathematics, computer science, or physics required
    • Strong understanding in the topics we teach: scientific Python, probability, statistics, SQL, machine learning, data engineering, data visualization, and data at scale
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Multiple years of experience teaching a quantitative subject preferred
