Junior Account Executive

Government Executive Media Group (GEMG) is Atlantic Media’s B2B division and the leading source of information and analysis for public sector managers nationwide. Its media brands include Government Executive, Nextgov, Defense One and Route Fifty, all of which hold market-leading positions and have fast-growing audiences.

Launched in 2015, Leading Brands is the new, end-to-end marketing intelligence product examining the vendor selection priorities and perceptions of government purchase influencers.  Designed to address the most pressing challenges facing marketers to government, the annual study examines purchasing trends and evaluates 100+ brands against the most important attributes to government buyers.  The results of this robust study allow companies to benchmark against competitors and measure performance over time.

We are currently seeking highly driven, bright, entrepreneurial individuals with a passion for sales and strategic thinking to join our team to sell the Leading Brands product to the companies to have been included in the upcoming 2017 study. The Junior Sales Representative will play a critical role within our fast-paced sales team focused prospective clients.

The Junior Sales Representative Duties:

Targeted Sales & Marketing Outreach –

  • Leverage best-practice strategic communication and marketing collateral via email and phone.
  • Deliver value proposition to prospective clients by securing phone and onsite meetings.
  • Lead marketing campaign follow up, outreach and tracking.
  • Schedule sales meetings and conference calls with prospective clients to achieve weekly and monthly goals.
  • Coordinate data collection for sales presentations
  • Assist GEMG sales staff who include Leading Brands research in integrated media proposals.
  • Assist in pipeline management as prospects move through evaluation stages

Team Logistics & Administrative Responsibilities –

  • Ensure Salesforce contains accurate account details, sales activities, and contact information
  • Participate in staff meetings and complete follow-up activities and assignments
  • Coordinate all post sales process both internally and externally (competitor selection, briefing schedules, data cuts, etc).

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

EXPERIENCE –

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
  • 1+ years of post-graduate sales and marketing experience tied to revenue goals
  • Proven record of goal or performance-based achievement in current/past positions

SKILLS –

  • Proven record of goal or performance-based achievement
  • Entrepreneurial initiative to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Sophisticated and polished verbal and written communication
  • Strong work ethic driven by creativity, persistence and tenacity
  • Thrive in an organized and routine driven team environment
  • Superior professionalism, discretion, and judgment
