Staff Accountant - Accounting Coordinator
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA),
headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a full-time Staff
Accountant/Accounting Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this
position is responsible for assisting with full cycle accounts payable
operations and financial processes of the LPGA, the LPGA Foundation and their
subsidiaries. This includes the
day-to-day accounting processes, primarily for accounts payable and backup
support for accounts receivable transactions for the company. This position is
based in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Responsible for accounting functions including accounts payable and multiple bank reconciliations
Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to organization guidelines
Responsible for monthly closing of financial data and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, sales tax and approval in accordance with policies prior to payment
Assist with the review of Accounts Payable invoice batches for proper expense coding and approvals for vendor payment processing
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Provides accounting assistance to staff members; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
Acts as a liaison between the company, government, vendors and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes
Perform special projects and other various duties as requested
Requirements:
At least 2-3 years accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting experience required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required
Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
Accounting software (MAS 90, Sage, or similar systems) experience required
Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience required
Prior experience working in a heavy transactional role with a very heavy workload required
Prior experience working in the Hospitality, Entertainment/Media or Sports industry preferred
Must be extremely well organized and detail oriented with a professional attitude, strong work ethic and interpersonal/customer service skills
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Strong problem solving, documentation, research and resolution skills
Great communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
