Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

 1)     Experience in a clinical healthcare setting or clinical research is preferred.

2)     Demonstrated ability to successfully lead/manage/coordinate collaborative projects is preferred.

3)     Record of success in working across disciplines, with a variety of faculty is preferred.

 Principal duties:

The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is a matrix, NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with 250 to 300 UW faculty members from 40+ departments and 10+ UW schools. The UWCCC is the connecting "hub" of all cancer-related clinical care and research throughout UW Health and UW Madison. The scope of the UWCCC includes 30,000+ cancer patients, 1,000+ support staff and faculty-directed research with funding at approximately $100 million per year.

 

The Molecular Tumor Board (MTB) Coordinator will join the UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and report directly to the Assistant Director of Translational Research Services, to support the UWCCC's Molecular Tumor Board (MTB). The primary purpose of the MTB is to collect and analyze patient information in the context of the biology of the cancer, develop treatment recommendations based upon clinical characteristics and molecular data and analyze how well a treatment worked. The secondary purpose of the MTB is to serve in an advisory capacity to the UW Health Chemotherapy Review Council and the UW Health Clinical Laboratory Committee. The MTB Coordinator position will interface with UW Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) oncology patients, UWHC, UW and UWCCC personnel and a UW referral network. The selected candidate must be self-directed, demonstrate superior oral, written and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-t ask, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment across organizational units.

 Work experience should demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and maturity. Candidates must be effective at building interpersonal relationships with constructive interactions, be clear and effective communicators, promote and create collegial environments that value accountability.

 1)     Administratively support and ensure adherence and best practice standards for all MTB activities as set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP), University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC), University of Wisconsin, National Cancer Institute and all other applicable regulatory agencies.

 2)     Direct and administratively support all activities of the MTB to achieve program goals; specifically building relationships across the organization and managing/coordinating MTB activities between members, clinicians, patients, internal collaborators and referral network.

 3)     Develop, coordinate and manage regulatory requirements with the University's Health Sciences Institutional Review Board, University Hospital and any other regulatory review boards. Monitor compliance with Federal, State and University regulations regarding research.

 4)     Design and develop all MTB Standard Operating Procedures and oversee revisions and annual re- approvals.

 5)     Other duties as assigned by the UWCCC Assistant Director and MTB Chairs.

 6)     Direct, administratively manage, coordinate and oversee the operational functions of the MTB protocol. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Supporting all research activities including patient teaching, obtaining informed consent, determining eligibility and coordinating the submission of materials for genomic testing and other research correlatives.

·       Administratively manage, organize and coordinate the MTB meeting agenda, collect, organize and ensure clinical and molecular data is available for presentation and document treatment discussions and recommendations.

·       Administratively support MTB Chair treatment recommendations: facilitate, develop and finalize documents and ensure distribution of recommendations to treating clinicians and inclusion into electronic medical record.

·       Direct, manage and coordinate the process for data collections and ensure quality assurance for the completeness and acc uracy of data from medical record; oversee the submission of molecular and clinical data including all regulatory submissions into UWCCC research database and ensure an understanding of all database definitions and data entry requirements; secure patient data and source documentation for audits.
