Commissioning Engineer

Industrial Automation company with over 40 years of experience in  Assembly, Automation, Washers, Gantries, Fastener Tightening, Test Equipment and Conveyor Equipment worldwide.

 

Job Summary: Supports the organization and Service Department personnel with technical solution regarding projects and products. Must be willing to travel.

1.     Provide leadership focused on building a Best in Class product.

2.     Confirm that equipment validation process includes testing, and that equipment performance has been adequately demonstrated prior to shipment.

3.     Participate in equipment runoffs.

4.     Complete equipment pre-shipment checklists to ensure equality, and that mitigation of performance risks have been thoroughly assessed.

5.     Ensure that all technical issues are resolved, and that equipment validation process in the field includes testing and demonstrating technical capabilities of our product following installation and start-up at the customer’s facility.

6.     Ensure that 8 D’s are written, that they accurately determine root cause of failures, and that a permanent solution had been identified.

7.     Ensure that open issue information is accurate, that planned actions will correct equipment deficiencies and that information regarding resources, hours, and dates is correct.

8.     Initiate/process warranty forms, including development or corrective action plans.

9.     Provide on-site field support, telephone support, and sales support regarding technical issues.

10. Maintain effective communication with functional Managers, other Technicians, and Project Personnel regarding equipment technical requirements.

11. Participate in the development of maintenance procedures, and confirm that information is documented correctly in manuals provided for the customer.

12. Participate in critical design reviews, and risk assessment reviews. Support EIP and R&M activities in the field and within the organization.

13. Identify training opportunities, outline a personal career path plan, and pursue it.

14. Develop practical ways to continuously improve the departments and the services provided for our customers.

15. Supervise and lead all trades during the installation start-up phase


Required Skills

 

·         Mechanical, Fluid Power, and Electrical/Electronic Expertise

·         Communication Skills

·         Organizational Skills

·         Problem Solving Skills (PFMEA, FMEA)

·         MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Access)

·         Siemens Software programming experience a plus

·         Knowledge of Robot Programming (ABB & Fanuc preferred)
