Part-time Paralegal

This is a grant-funded position which will terminate under the current grant in September, 2017; however, we anticipate renewal of the grant.

Part-time paralegal position in the Warrensburg office.  The person hired will assist with adult and child orders of protection, custody litigation stemming from such cases, as well as general support for victims of domestic violence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to completing intake interviews for victims of domestic violence; meeting with clients regarding adult and child orders of protection; assisting in drafting motions and other court documents for victims of domestic violence in both order of protection, and collateral custody litigation; attending and participating in community outreach; working with local victim advocates and other legal professionals; and generally providing support to victims of domestic violence.

Four-year degree or paralegal certificate and/or previous involvement in community related issues; excellent written and oral communication skills; and a desire to assist in the delivery of high quality legal assistance to low income people.
