Accounting Intern

General Statement of Duties:

Position will be responsible for:

  • Performing month-end accounting procedures

  • Analyzing, documenting and reconciling balance sheet accounts

  • Maintaining relationships with business partners to ensure proper accounting for assigned accounts

  • Make recommendations on expense reduction or process improvement utilizing critical thinking, creativity and analysis

    Prepare timely, accurate and efficient monthly journal entries.

     

    Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations utilizing Blackline.  Provide complete documentation, identify any discrepancies and propose adjustments if necessary.

     

    Analyze monthly financial results through P&L variance analysis.  Write thoughtful commentary and propose recommendations based on findings to Accounting Leadership team.

     

    Build relationships within the Accounting and Finance department.  Work cross functionally with other departments on projects related to assigned areas.

     

    Work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis to maintain relevant understanding of the current forecast associated with assigned P&L lines.

     

    Prepare financial schedules and support for internal audits, SOX, regulatory examinations and other management requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Accounting

    0-2 years of Accounting or Finance experience

    Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Internet research

     

    Desirable:

    Experience with MS Access, or similar database application
