Program Summary

During your time as an Intern at AFN, you will learn the different facets of the transportation industry and our organization by working alongside the Carrier Sales, Operations and/or Client Services departments.  You will learn the organization from different angles, from tracking and tracing shipments to creating and building lasting partnerships with clients. 

You’ll learn to:

  • Build strong partnerships, internally and externally.
  • Negotiate shipment rates.
  • Track and trace shipments.
  • Research and source carriers to create long-term partnerships.
  • Identify and understand the needs of our customers.
  • Understand the supply and demand of the market.
  • Identify problems and find solutions.

We’re looking for someone who has a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated and determined work ethic.
  • Skillset that includes relationship-building, ninja-like multi-tasking, organizational, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Talent to think outside the box and enjoy learning and solving problems.
  • Driven, flexible, enthusiastic and assertive demeanor.
