Electronic Security Sales Engineer

Working out of MidCo’s suburban Chicago offices located in Burr Ridge, IL, the Security Division Sales Engineer is to estimate sales proposals, provide technical sales support to Account Executives, provide product demonstrations, and sell and market MidCo Inc.’s security products and services. They are to develop a sales and estimating plan, support existing and potential accounts as assigned, and generate expected sales revenue goals for MidCo Inc. This is a salaried position that reports directly to the Security Sales Manager.

MidCo's clients represent some of the most-recognized corporate, industrial, educational, and municipal government names in the marketplace today, whether installing systems for major high-rise office towers, sports stadiums, educational institutions, or large suburban office or municipal campuses, MidCo's custom-work approach makes every installation unique and exciting to estimate and propose.

Primary responsibilities of the Security Sales Engineer consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Provides product, service, or equipment-related technical and engineering information to MidCo Account Executives, sales prospects, and client, by answering questions and requests.

Prepares sales estimates in response to Bid and/or Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by studying blueprints, plans, and related RFP and/or customer documents using Company-provided estimating software tools as assigned.

Review and respond to published RFPs using Company-provided lead sources.

Undertake travel, as required, to visit potential and/or current clients

Provide technical and/or product demonstrations and/or product training to Account Executives and/or Clients as required

Managing and interpreting customer’s sales requirements.

Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs.

Supporting marketing efforts by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as may be required.

Keep informed on products, market trends, and competitor activities.

Attend meetings and participate in sales training and product knowledge sessions as assigned.

Maintain and expand professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.

Responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of cooperation and teamwork within this workgroup, and between this group and the other departments.
