Camp Counselor / Activity Specialist

·       Applicants must be current college students or graduates.

·       Able to communicate and work well with children and other staff members.

·       Able to teach/coach/guide beginner through advanced skill levels on specific position hired.

Applicants must be individuals with high moral character and possess a strong work ethic. Working in camp and counseling children is hard work!  We expect our staff members to be excellent role models for our campers. Previous experience working with children is important. The capacity to provide warm, mature guidance is most important.

As a condition of employment applicants must pass the staff screening processes which includes: reference checks, criminal background checks, sex-offender registry check, finger printing, and other staff screening checks deemed appropriate.

·       Lives in a cabin with a group of 10-13 children and with 2 co-counselors.

·       Act as a leader, guide, helper and positive role-model with your group of assigned campers.

·       Maintains maximum safety for all campers at all times.

·       Participates in all daily camp activities with your campers.

·       Will make sure your campers are prepared to participate in daily activities.

·       Provides quality instruction in your specialized program area. (i.e. coaching soccer or teaching ceramics)

·       Will provide age specific activities/drills that represent the age of the campers you are working with.

·       Establishes an individual relationship with each camper.

·       Lead and/or assist in a particular program area.

·       Puts the needs of the campers before those of yourself.

·       Help campers develop life skills including independence, cooperation, responsibility & perseverance.

·       Will know and observe camp policies.

·       Participates in pre-camp training and weekly staff meetings with Directors/Head Counselor.

·       Prepares a daily written camper report relating to your observations of each camper’s experience.

·       Will be a Difference Maker!

Compensation. We pay very competitive rates to attract the best staff as well as travel allowance. Pay will be commensurate with experience. Room and board plus weekly laundry is included so you really have not expenses at all while at camp!
