EHS Intern
QuantumScape is looking for an EHS Intern (20 hours/week; flexible hours) who can start in January 2017. The successful candidate has strong desire of pursuing a career in EHS.
QuantumScape is a start-up, located in San Jose, California and is working on new, advanced energy storage. The company seeks to change the paradigm in energy storage by developing a completely new class of electrical energy storage device. QuantumScape is backed by top VC firms. Technology is based on work originating from Stanford University.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Hazardous waste manifest
management
- Chemical labeling
- Safety data sheet management
- Chemical inventory management
- Facility signage
- Participate in safety inspections,
housekeeping inspections, storm water inspections,
- Monthly checks of fire
extinguishers, first aid kits, and ERT equipment
- Assist with the training material
preparation and periodically deliver the training
- Assist with data management
- Participate in ERT training
Education and Experience:
- First year Master’s student or a Bachelor’s
student in his/her final year in chemistry or chemical engineering.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate at
all levels within the company
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate
with people at all levels within the organization
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience with SharePoint and Visio
are a plus
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast paced environment
QuantumScape will train the intern in all job functions. This is a paid internship.
