Opportunity

Please consider joining a fast paced sustaining product development team at Kohler Power Systems in Mosel, WI in the role of Product Development Engineer.

The Engineer will provide technical direction and engineering support in the development and sustaining of generator sets. Technical scope includes a working knowledge of thermodynamics, internal combustion engines, static and dynamic stress analysis as well as an understanding of electrical theory. The engineer will work in conjunction with the efforts of Design Engineers, Process Engineers, Engineering Analysts and Lab Technicians. He/she will work with teams domestically and internationally in engineering subtasks involving the design, fabrication, validation and manufacture of complex products, systems, processes, equipment or facilities. The engineer will choose materials and components which result in high quality, high performance, and cost-effective generators. This position will contribute to cost reduction initiatives to meet the goals of the organization and introduce innovative technology to designs.

Specific Responsibilities:
* Support, maintain and update existing product designs
* Implementing and validating shorter term project developments
* Provide technical and design direction to engineering analysts, and other engineers
* Support manufacturing to improve processes and designs
* Work with Accounting and Procurement functions to improve product and validated product component cost reductions
* Validate designs through testing to meet performance, reliability, and durability targets
* Drive cost reduction programs to improve current product
* Provide concise and timely status reports on the progress of each assigned tasks
* Lead continual improvement initiatives to streamline internal business processes and support system upgrades
* Analyze designs and drive changes or modifications. Investigate and correct design problems
* Creative problem solver in all aspects of the role
* Projects are expected to be completed on schedule and within financial commitments

Skills/Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
* Successfully completed co-op program in a related field is required.
* 1+ years in product developmetn is preferred
* Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects / tasks
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectilvely with cross functional teams and customers
* Strong problem solving skills
* Creo or CAD experience is helpful
