ODI seeks electrical engineers who like to design and build machines. Robots, high speed & precision motorized mechanisms, power electronics, PLC and PC controls, lasers, sensors, cameras and vision systems, safety systems are common system components. The ideal candidate will be able to design, under guidance from senior engineers, safe, reliable and low-cost systems based on anything from a 50-page specification to a sketch on a napkin. The ideal candidate will be able to work quickly to produce efficient designs that are robust and reliable. The ideal candidate will also be able to learn to work collaboratively with customers, program managers, mechanical engineers and manufacturing personnel. A working knowledge of common standards such as CE, RoHS, NFPA & SEMI is required.
Qualifications required:
Able to generate electrical schematics.
Able to generate electrical panel layouts.
AutoCAD Electrical skill (preferred) or AutoCAD.
Knowledge of NFPA 79, NEC, Semi S2, Machine Safety Design Standard (ISO 13849) requirements.
Knowledge of off-the-shelf electrical hardware such as PLCs, relays, power supplies, motion drivers, etc.
Capable of designing EMO and safety interlock circuits.
Capable of designing high-power distribution circuits such as 120 VAC up to 3 phase 480VAC.
Understanding of motion (servo or stepper) system design.
Understanding of PLC architecture & system design.

- BSEE or equivalent, plus at least 3 years’ experience designing automated capital equipment.
- Must have effective verbal and written communications skills and work effectively in teams.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (“green card”) required.
