Information Security Analyst Intern

The Global Security Office (GSO) at Veritas Technologies is an organization
under the CIO responsible to define the Veritas security program and to
communicate outcomes to the business, operating under an established Security
Risk Framework.
We are looking for an information security monitoring and triage analyst to take responsibility for functional and technical aspects of our security operations. A detail oriented and self-motivated individual with proven record to drive analysis and response of security related programs and incidents to success by working independently or in a team. This individual can perform best under pressure, is highly motivated, enthusiastic, a quick learner, and displays excellent communication, leadership, analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities:
Assist with incident monitoring and triage of malicious incidents and respond as applicable
Assist with the development of workflows (flow charts and task descriptions) to ensure incidents are monitored, triaged, and responded efficiently
Conduct critical, qualitative and quantitative analysis accurately, including security analysis on potential threats, vulnerabilities and incidents
Act as a point of contact for company stakeholders to report potential security incidents
Collaborate with incident response and Managed Security Service on security event thresholds prior to becoming events
Build relationships with other, partner teams across GSO and IT
Recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiency;
Qualifications:
Enrollment in a relevant BA/BS degree program and at least one year completed; relevant work experience will be considered
IT Security certifications are a plus (CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, Security+, etc)
IT Security and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certifications are a plus
Outstanding analytical skills along with the ability to break down complex issues into simple solutions;
Ability to interact with both technical and managerial levels of the organization;
Expert with analytics in MS Excel, documentation in MS Word, and presentations in MS PowerPoint;
Self-starter who prioritizes multiple projects with competing deadlines;
Experience working in teams including international members;
Negotiation and problem resolution skills;
Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
Excellent written skills, experience with writing and preparing technical papers and training materials;
Preferred: general background in IT services / support
