Priority School Technology Integration Specialist

Scope of Responsibilities

Develops and reinforces a substantial multi-media, computer based support system that is user-friendly for all teachers and students.  Matches technology tools to the needs of the magnet program and its curriculum.  Creates opportunities for all students and teachers to gain knowledge and develop expertise with multi-media and computer technology.  Provides technical educational support for the successful implementation of the building’s curriculum and technology initiatives with the district’s approved curriculum for grades K-8.  Assists classroom teachers in the computer lab setting and assist students in the production of learning products.  Provides training in the use of technology and software for staff, students and parent groups.  Oversees and maintains all technology; problem solves and troubleshoots technology issues with all multi-media equipment.

 

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Trains staff, students on specific district technology applications.

  2. Evaluates and recommends specific technology applications for curriculum.

  3. Provides technical support for the successful implementation of the building’s and district’s approved curriculum.

  4. Catalogs, maintains and distributes technology resources.

  5. Maintains and troubleshoots computer systems in labs and classrooms.

  6. Serves as liaison between buildings, Technology Services, and District’s TLS Office.

  7. Operates video conferences system, in-service and supports staff in its use of such equipment.

  8. Assists students in creating, editing, and sharing technologically practical products.

  9. Provides training and support to staff on software technology, reality systems, hand-held data collection devices and advises on other software purchases with District approval.

  10. Assists classroom teachers in developing student proficiency in the use of multimedia computer based applications.

  11. Works collaboratively with the Instructional Curriculum Technology Coordinator and the Building Implementer.

  12. Other tasks as designated by the Principal.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Associates degree in computer science.

  2. Demonstrated ability to train others in computer, software and other technology.

  3. Demonstrated experience with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

  4. Demonstrated experience in video production.

  5. Evidence of a good work record

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science.

  2. Bachelor’s degree in teaching.

  3. Demonstrated ability to apply multi-media technology for innovative/creative uses.

  4. Experience working with children in an education setting.
