Think you have what it takes to co-op at the best bike company in the world? Trek is currently looking for an enthusiastic Lean Engineering co-op student that’s focused on paint and safety. This co-op will leave you experienced in building a lean culture, improving communication, leading continuous improvement activities, and gaining an overall knowledge of manufacturing high-end consumer products and the operations challenges that go along with them.

January 2017 - August 2017

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participating in and leading CI/lean events
  • Simplifying processes and training operators
  • Working on technical issues affecting throughput and quality
  • Helping to streamline the validation process
  • Assisting support staff with introduction of new products to manufacturing
  • Assisting in establishing safety standards across the plant

Trek Manufacturing in Waterloo builds high-end performance bicycle racing products using advanced materials and processes. Our plant molds carbon wheels, carbon frames, paints custom frames, and assembles wheels and frames.
