Technology Support Specialist (Full Time & Part Time)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for analyzing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of technology devices and application/system components for the City of Muskegon. Provide direction, information, and recommendations regarding technology devices and implementation of applications/systems to support the technology. Conduct problem solving for technology devices and software components, documents procedures, and policies.

REQUIRED MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent work experience with certifications. Bachelors Degree preferred.

 EXPERIENCE:  

  • Technical, analytical and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
  • 2 years recent and successful experience in the support of technology devices and peripherals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environment using active directory.
  • Experience with PHP, WordPress, HTML and MySQL.
  • Experience with Cisco phones / CallManager.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, A+, or Network Plus.
