Power Electronics Engineer
Responsibilities: Responsible for developing advanced high voltage power (AC/DC, DC/DC), supplies (on-board chargers) including developing, evaluating and modifying existing designs executed by internal core design team
· Interface with internal core design team to evaluate/modify existing designs of AC/DC, DC/DC switch mode power supplies in support of Electric Vehicle charging systems/operation
· Provide direct customer support to understand/interpret customer requirements
· Develop and evaluate/modify existing designs of power conversion systems, up to 22kw, in compliance with customer functional/packaging requirements
· Coordinate both electrical and mechanical design
· Troubleshoot circuits as required – both at the component and vehicle levels
· Root causes analysis on products, technical problems and documentation Implement preventive and corrective action Prepare user related documentation relative to products and components
Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies
· Electronic power supplies and power conversion products including design experience with both voltages > 400V, and power > 10 kW
· Knowledge of Magnetics concepts and Magnetic elements in power supplies
· Thorough understanding of Control Loop
· Working knowledge of circuit design and simulation
· Experience with Electronic packaging, and thermal management, EMI
· Working knowledge of SAE, IEC, GB, etc. standards
· Proficiency at identifying technical problems and willingness to make contributions in the resolution
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with co-workers, subordinates, suppliers, management, and customers in a team environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education/Experience: BSEE with minimum of four years of job related experience
