Education Consultant Wanted in Tiandao, China (Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen)

The Position

 

As an International Education Consultant, you will serve as a mentor and advisor to high school students applying for admission to top U.S. undergraduate degree programs. Consultants will give direct, individualized guidance to students to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses, develop their potential, and understand the U.S. higher education system and liberal arts philosophy. Consultants will also provide advice as students complete each step of the college application process, from academic planning, school selection, personal statement and essay development to interview preparation and overall portfolio management. In addition to individual case management, consultants may have the opportunity to teach academic and cultural exploration courses, participate in the marketing and sales process for Tiandao services, and brainstorm and provide feedback to support business development projects.

Requirements

 

Native or native-level English speaker

A bachelor’s degree in any field from a well-known college or university in the U.S. (Top 40 preferred) and strong academic performance

 Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to be a positive and encouraging mentor to students

Self-motivated yet able to function well as part of a dynamic team

Eager to work in a linguistically and culturally diverse environment

Available to start in Feb, March, or July 2017

 

 

Ideal Qualifications

 

 Mandarin language ability

 Study abroad or international internship experience

 Previous work experience in international education, admissions, or journalism/creative writing

 Academic background in humanities or social sciences
