Director of Planning, Research, and Assessment

The Director of Planning, Research and Assessment directs and coordinates activities related to institutional planning, research, and evaluation, which support the mission and purpose of the institution.

The Director provides leadership, direction, and coordination for the College Master Planning process and other planning processes, supporting the College’s research program and the College’s data systems. The Director supervises and evaluates staff and develops and controls budgets relative to assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the office and the reporting requirements about KVCC.
  • Lead and/or perform studies required for accreditation of the College.
  • Assist with or direct development of surveys conducted by the College.
  • Direct or perform analysis and preparation of resulting reports for surveys conducted.
  • Serve as technical research consultant to the administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Direct and coordinate institutional information exchanges with other institutions.
  • Audit and release official information about student enrollment; and faculty, student, and staff characteristics.
  • Direct and coordinate the College Planning process.
  • Ensure integration of research outcomes and management systems in planning and decision-making.
  • Support and organize program review efforts.

This position will also conduct and update College environmental scanning and planning assumptions; maintain the College data necessary for State and Federal reporting; develop and share information to enhance institutional effectiveness; and chair, or serve as a member of, college committees and participate in professional organizations and State committees, as appropriate.

A Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or an appropriate research field is required.

Experience equivalent to four years in planning, research, or related work is required.

Candidates must demonstrate specialized experience in institutional research and planning, with experience with various facets of Information Technology and statistical software, and familiarity with research requirements for validation of assessment programs.
