Account Executive

Solvay is looking for an entry level Account Executive who will be responsible for reaching sales targets at existing and new accounts with a specific charge to grow Solvay’s Performance Polyamide presence in the automotive market. The individual will focus on closing new business, growing volumes, develop new opportunities and maintain strong customer relationships.

Main Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for new account development and increasing market penetration to capitalize on and substantially grow niche market segments
  • Establish, maintain and grow strong relationships that result in increased Solvay sales in the region.
  • Negotiate, communicate and implement price changes with the customer, assess market pricing and make pricing recommendations.
  • Maintain long term customer relationships, interacting at high level and penetrating various functional roles throughout the organization
  • Obtain in­depth knowledge about customers and competitors and share it within the Global Business Unit
  • Achieve KPI (sales volumes, revenue, managing ASP, contribution margin, profitability, track key account metrics etc.)
  • Accountable for sales targets, closes, forecast, opportunities management, negotiating terms and conditions, managing customer interfaces (quality, technical, supply, etc)
  • Foster, monitor and coordinate the pipeline of initiatives and projects with customers
  • Using CRM (SalesForce) to enter opportunities, sales visits, product and pricing info.
  • Plan and lead contract negotiations and close deals (product choice, pricing, service, etc.)
  • Work with Global Account Management team to support global accounts and assist with growth
  • Interacting with Business Development Manager and Technical Support Engineering
  • Communicate clearly the progress on monthly/quarterly initiatives to Sales Manager

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Material Science, Plastic / Polymer Science or related technical major
  • 0-2 year's of experience in a commercial/marketing role in automotive industry related to the application of engineering plastics
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with all levels and functions in an organization
  • Demonstrates knowledge of price and profitability management a plus
  • Must be self-motivated, driven and have the ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% after the training period is completed
