Portfolio Account Specialist

SUMMARY: Incumbents in the Portfolio Account Specialist position will be expected to reconcile

cash balances, as well as account activity within the necessary timeframe daily. Additionally, on a

monthly basis incumbents will reconcile the market valuation within the accounting software based on

custodian records, and may also be responsible for reconciling the performance valuation for each

account.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are generally

representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

PORTFOLIO RECONCILIATION

· Reconcile cash holdings on a daily basis

· Download file detailing account activity from bank and accounting software into account

reconciliation tool daily

· Reconcile position variances on a daily basis

· Coordinate with custodian and internal teams to research and resolve cash balance and position

discrepancies

· Update activity within accounting software based on reconciliation process, when necessary

· Coordinate with Portfolio Management to raise cash or invest contributions

· Reconcile cash holdings and market valuation to custodian records on a monthly basis

· May reconcile performance valuation monthly based on manual calculation to valuation in

accounting software

REPORTING

· Prepare client statements

· May execute cash balance report and provide to corresponding Portfolio Manager on a daily

basis

· Research and respond to ad hoc requests and questions received from clients and Portfolio

Managers

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university, with an emphasis in Accounting

· 2-4 years of experience in the investment management industry

INTERPERSONAL/COMMUNICATION/LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

· Ability to work in a team or independently

MATHEMATICAL/ANALYTICAL/REASONING SKILLS:

· Excellent problem recognition and resolution skills

· Strong analytical skills

· Detail-oriented

· Advanced mathematical skills

OTHER:

· Ability to multi-task

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to prioritize based on competing initiatives

TECHNICAL:

· Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) skills

· Experience with Portia or SimCorp Dimension a plus

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: No certifications, licenses, or registrations are

required for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Professional office environment
