Civil Engineer - Calhoun County Road Department
Under the general direction of the Director of Engineering, directs, administers, and supports all engineering activities including road and bridge construction planning and management, project design, specification development, bridge inspections, and traffic engineering functions. Manages and collaborates on projects with other CCRD departments.
The job requires knowledge and critical thinking skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field. Certifications in asphalt, aggregate, and construction inspection/testing are a plus. Possession of a Professional Engineer’s (P.E.) license is preferred; but required within four years of employment. Internships and/or work experience with road, infrastructure, public works, or construction management agencies is highly desired. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and related software. Possession of a valid MI Driver’s License.
