Sales Account Specialist - General Motors Experience

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

General Motors Experience with interiors preferred.


Involved in; Supporting Senior/Sales Account Managers/Director of Sales in facilitating KBPD assignments; attendance at customer driven meetings; coordinating data/ input into reports; assistance in preparing and presenting presentations; identify and collect data on competition; assist in reviewing and submitting customer request for quotations, collects needed input, follows through submission; assists in compiling data and reports on forecasted sales; supports in obtaining and tracking input to cause closure of open SO's to PO's & 3PA issues.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Under general supervision the Sales Specialist is responsible for the following major tasks:

  • Attend account - related KBPD meetings; provide the appropriate Sales personnel with written minutes and follow-up as required.
  • Participate in customer-driven meetings with or in place of the Senior/Sales Account Manager
  • Provide regular updates on the status of existing business including engineering changes, volume changes, SPI plant concerns or problems and customer plant concerns/problems
  • Assist in preparing for and presenting sales-related information to the customer.
  • Monthly Pin-Point reporting to the Senior/Sales Account Manager; these may include; Account Development Strategies, Defense and New Awards, budget compliance and account specific assignments.
  • Facilitate the maintenance of existing business to assist the Senior/Sales Account manager in successfully defending all programs
  • Communicate pertinent changes in personnel or policies by the customer that directly affect the defense of existing or the obtaining of new business
  • Develop and prioritize, in conjunction with Senior/Sales Account Manager, short and long-term goals that are designed to improve SPI'S relationship with the customer.
  • Visit all SPI plant locations that ship product to the customer; visit, where appropriate, the customer's facilities that use SPI product. Listen, learn and communicate as needed.
