Spring Internship Opportunities

The McCain Institute provides current and recent college students the opportunity to serve as interns in our Washington office. The internship program is an extension of the Institute’s mission to advance character-driven leadership. Interns are given real-world assignments and are actively involved in the daily operations of The McCain Institute.

In addition to valuable professional experience, interns have the opportunity to interact with policymakers and leaders in a variety of fields including foreign affairs, national security, public policy and media. Interns are encouraged to take part in weekly activities and events in Washington including panel discussions, conferences, lectures and hearings, in addition to McCain Institute sponsored events and programs. The skill set and network of contacts interns develop during their time at The McCain Institute help prepare them for the future, whether in seeking professional positions, returning to higher education or engaging in community service.
Internships are offered in the fall (September- December), spring (January- April) and summer (May-August). At present, internships are offered in the following areas:

- Communications & Events Intern
- Decision Science Intern
- Development & Next Generation Leaders Program Intern
- Humanitarian Action Intern
- Human Rights and Democracy Intern
- National Security/Law and Governance Intern

The deadline for Spring 2017 Internship applications has been extended to October 28th.
