Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform assigned duties in accordance with established procedures, and as instructed, by the Director of Development to ensure that fundraising and public relations goals are successfully met. The focus of this position will be to create and lead fundraising activities for the annual fund. Keen customer service when dealing on the phone or in person with the public will also be required.
 
Essential Functions of your Job:
  • Create and lead fundraising activities for annual fund, including but not limited to the annual gala, annual appeals, church partnerships, and in-kind gifts.
  • Solicit and steward volunteers to support annual fund activities.
  • Steward annual fund donors.
  • Maintain donor database on a daily basis.
  • Records and prepares receipts for all contributions.
  • Generates letters for gifting.
  • Generates database reports for study and reporting.
  • Helps with developing, coordinating and running events that deal with donors or the general public.
  • Attends regular development, Sunset Legacy Foundation, volunteer appreciation meeting, others as requested.
  • Takes reservations and makes follow-up calls for events.
  • Will work with Marketing to develop and publish newsletters.
     
    Qualifications and Experience Required:
    Minimum of an Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent. Two to three years’ experience in fund development or equivalent experience with event planning.
