Software Engineer (Java/Unix/SQL)

Overview:

Responsibilities:

The team is responsible for developing brokerage-customer database, middle-tier servers, and related internal web applications. Our software provides customers with the means to apply for a brokerage account and manage an existing account. The team also provides systems that publish customer account configuration information in real-time to the brokerage and clearing systems.

 

The responsibilities of this position include design, development, and maintenance of various software applications including (but not limited to):

  • Middle-tier Java servers using J2EE (preferably JBoss) and Spring on Linux platform.
  • Web-based GUIs using Servlets/JSPs on Tomcat.
  • Database reporting applications using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Scheduled batch jobs running applications/scripts using Java/Perl/KSH/Bash.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (recent graduates with 0-3 years of experience are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong skill in core Java programming.
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented software design concepts and UML.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational database design (preferably Oracle and PL/SQL).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
