Expeditor

Ensures product availability through the timely delivery of inbound transportation loads to multiple warehouse locations.  Determines when and how to best to expedite any deliveries so that the division meets or exceeds customer order fill rate goals while managing costs.  Measurement of performance will be based on service level percent along with identifying potential stock problems and solving them before they become issues.

 

Monitor PO delivery schedule throughout the day, along with future receiving appointments in SmartDock, and update purchase order receiving date information into PRISM.

 

Job Description:

 

Review a number of inventory exception reports to proactively manage and resolve replenishment issues including;

·         Service Level Report

·         Prior Day’s Receiving Report

·         Buyer Priority List

·         Less than One Week on Hand Report

·         Waitlist in PRISM

 

Expedite inbound product shipments based on issues discovered by reviewing the above exception reports, with the goal of recovering on any issues before the division is out of stock.

 

Works with vendors to identify and resolve issues relative to vendor related delays and expedition costs - escalates to manager when unable to resolve.

 

Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve and recover from replenishment issues such as vendor shorts, out of stocks, and transportation delays or rescheduling.

 

Determines the most appropriate recovery solution based on understanding customer acquisition cost vs. expediting cost (out of stock service issues and out-bound re-delivery cost to customers).

 

Elevates vendor inbound service issues to Category Management and/or Vendor Management Department and assists them in holding vendors accountable for on time, in full deliveries to US Foodservice.

 

Works with RSC Buyer and the Division Customer service department to allocate product where available and appropriate to customers to help alleviate service issues and re-delivery costs.

 

Work with Division Operations to adjust and balance receiving while not negatively affecting service levels.

Requirements:

Education/Training: High school diploma required; additional college courses in business or math preferred

 

Related Experience: Minimum 5 years purchasing, logistics, transportation, or distribution experience strongly desired.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work through obstacles to achieve a goal
  • Ability to interact positively with wide variety of employees at all skill levels
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving, sense of urgency, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Outlook. PRISM, E3/AWR, and SmartDock experience preferred.
