Analyst/Staff Accountant

Position Summary:  

Stamos Capital Partners is a private investment firm that invests using an endowment approach across five major asset classes: fixed income, absolute return, public equity, private equity, and real assets. Stamos Capital Partners is based in Menlo Park, California.

 

As a member of the firm’s Finance Team, the individual will be responsible for fund accounting for a set of the firm’s funds, as well as playing an active role in helping to establish accounting and finance controls and best practices for the firm’s partnerships and business endeavors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Manage day-to-day accounting processes for a set of the firm’s funds;

·         Coordinate and review quarterly administrator accounting packages, partner capital and financial statements, and calls/distributions to partners;

·         Calculation, reporting, and maintenance of fund analytics;

·         Coordinate with auditors on year-end audit work;

·         Assist in preparation of tax estimates and tax returns for the funds;

·         Work with broader finance team to ensure consistent practices and controls;

·         Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices; and

·         Assist in special projects as assigned.

 

Other Duties & Responsibilities:  Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

·         1-3+ years’ accounting/finance experience, preferably in venture capital, private equity, public accounting, or financial services;

·         CPA preferred;

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and follow through, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

·         Strong computer skills including advanced Excel;

·         Flexible, detail oriented, and able to take the initiative and manage multiple projects while working in a collaborative team environment; and

·         Good sense of humor, ability to adapt to change, no job too small attitude.

 

Education: BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field from a top-tier university.
